As the last leaves fall from the trees and a crisp chill fills the air, we know it is only a matter of time before Nipissing University is covered in a blanket of white fluffy snow. As a prospective student it is important to come to terms with the fact that for the majority of the school year Nipissing is a cold winter wonderland. However, there are plenty of fun winter activities, specific to Nipissing University, for students to participate in.
As a first year student you will get the opportunity to participate in the residence winter games, a fun competition involving snowball fights, sled races, and snowman building. As well, Nipissing students can hop on a bus and travel minutes away from the campus to go skiing at Laurentian Ski Hill. Students can also go snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and hiking along the trails up to the scenic Duchesnay falls, in Nipissing’s own backyard. And if outdoor winter activities aren’t your thing Nipissing’s many clubs offer a wide range of indoor activities such as movie nights to keep students occupied and warm. So don’t let your fear of the snow stop you from choosing the school that’s right for you! Hope to see you next year 🙂
