I’ve Been Everywhere (in Ontario)

I’ve been everywhere, man
I’ve been everywhere, man
I’ve crossed the Great Lakes bare, man
I’ve breathed the Northern air, man
Of travel I’ve had my share, man
I’ve been everywhere

Been to Bolton, King City, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Atikokan, Fort Frances, Kenora, Dryden, Nipigon, Geraldton, Hearst, Kapuskasing, Timmins, Waterloo, Windsor, Oshawa, Oakville, Buckhorn, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Ottawa, see what I mean!

Over the past fall travel season I really had the opportunity to explore Ontario and see so many amazing and welcoming communities. It just goes to show how amazing our province is no matter where you go! Even though I have been traveling Ontario for the past three years as a student recruitment officer for Nipissing, it was in just a three-week period this year that I was truly able to appreciate how vast our province is. The list above looks small but when you put it on a map, the true size is astounding. One of these days I will plot all of the Ontario cities I have visited (or maybe even calculate the number of kilometers that I have traveled), but for the time being, here are the ones that I have traveled to from September 27th to October 17th:

And from October 27th – November 28th:

I’ve been everywhere, man
I’ve been everywhere again, man
I’ve climbed lots of school stairs, man
I’ve breathed the fall and winter air, man
Of travel I’ve had my share, man
I’ve been everywhere

Been to King City, Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, Brantford, Mississauga, Tillsonburg, St. Catharines, Peterborough, Lindsay, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Barrie, Brampton, Scarborough, Owen Sound, Markham, see what I mean!

There will be many more cities that I will travel to for work and still many more that I need to discover, but all this travel has made North Bay feel more like home than ever before (because it is where my travels begin and end, where my cat is, but also were I have so many great memories), and has enforced that Nipissing is #RightWhereIBelong.

These travels have made me more independent and confident every day. I have learned how to eat by myself at a restaurant, how to stay entertained on long drives, how to keep calm in traffic and plan small adventures at a moments notice. These are skills that I believe everyone should gain at some point in their lives, and travelling and going away to school are the best ways to do it. So get out there, discover more about yourself, try new things, meet new people, go to places that you have never been to before; because travel and education are the only things that you buy that will actually make you richer.
