I’ve spent the past few weeks of the travel season primarily in the GTA. While it is the area of the province I’m originally from, I haven’t spent too much time there since moving up north almost a decade ago.
Now, I love Toronto. I love the hustle and bustle of city life. I love the ability to get a slice of pizza at 2 in the morning after a killer concert. I also love Starbucks and Sephora and all the other amazing things the big city has to offer.
If any of you have met me during my travels you’ll surely have heard about my university story. How I initially attended a different institution in the big city but found that it wasn’t right for me. As much as I love all the stuff I mentioned above, I just love northern Ontario more! (#sorrynotsorry)
It’s been nice to visit my old stomping grounds, but being back in North Bay last weekend and getting to welcome prospective students to campus and show them and their families around really helped reinforce, to me, that I could not be happier with where I ended up attending university.
While North Bay might not have a Starbucks anymore (RIP Target) getting to taste Twigg’s again while showing off the school with all the beautiful fall colours made me realize that, for me, Nipissing was right where I belonged (and still do).
