As we head into the heaviest part of our first semester, it’s important to remember to take care of ourselves amidst the distress of finals, projects, assignments, and papers. In my experience, the most effective tool I’ve had in being productive and producing quality work is actually taking time away from sitting in the library all day and getting some exercise!
Taking mental and physical breaks allows for our retention and focus to recharge and get a better quality study session in. So, here are some awesome options that Nipissing students have right on campus:
1. Fitness classes!
I am actually a certified Zumba instructor and have witnessed how much shaking it in class with me can boost a student’s mood!

2. Take a nature walk.
Nipissing has such beautiful trails right on campus that can rejuvenate anyone after a long study session. Additionally, there are free snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals from the athletic centre during the winter!
3. Join an intramural team!
Get ahead of the game by scheduling in some fun, social exercise by joining an intramural team! Participate in a sport you love or try something new!
